The Potomac Street Mile was created as the first event sponsored by Brunswick Main Street.  It has grown in numbers and quality over the years as this years 5th Annual had 166 entries and a new mile record was set at 4:32.  There also was another estimated 100 people attending the event to support a friend or family member.

In offering this event, Brunswick Main Street, is focusing on 3 main goals.  The event is used to introduce people to downtown Brunswick as a place to do things, shop and have fun.  The event is a family focused event, offering healthy, fun exercise to local and area residence.  It also serves as an introduction to people who want to try a low key competitive event for the first time including, children and adults.  Participants ranged in age from 4 years old to 87.  A novice along with 2 more competitive divisions are offered.

The 6th Annual Potomac Street Mile will take place on Saturday September 4th, Labor Day weekend 2010.  Mark your calendar for this event if you are looking for fun, awards, t-shirts, refreshments, music and a great way to see what downtown Brunswick has to offer to area residence of all ages.
