First Friday in Brunswick
Join Historic Downtown Brunswick’s shops, restaurants, cafes, and antique markets on
First Friday of every month from 5-9 p.m. Shops offer extended shopping hours, and many host special activities. During First Fridays, visitors can take in gallery exhibits, enjoy live music, browse numerous boutiques and stores, and enjoy special activities. Brunswick also boasts having over 16,000 square feet of antiques within its Downtown District.
April 2nd “Starry Night Over Brunswick”
This is an art themed event designed to bring out your inner artist. Check out art from local artists that will be on display as well as live local music.
May 7th “Pet-A-Palooza”
Bring your pet down and enjoy a night out on the town designed for the animal lover and their best friend. All events this evening will be animal related. Live Music will be provided. This is a great annual event for the whole family.
June 4th “Ride On”
Get ready to gear up…literally..for our annual Bike Rodeo sponsored by the City of Brunswick and our Deadman’s Downhill Mile Race. Also this evening we will having a beer garden in the Citizen Lot (101 West Potomac Street) that will serve Yuengling Beer as local band Bo Weevil & Rottin’ Cottin’ will perform for your entertainment. The Farmers’ Market will also be this evening so remember to shop local, buy fresh, and reduce the travel time from farmer to your kitchen table.
July 2nd “Stars and Stripes”
Celebrate our country’s independence and the freedom we have to shop Downtown Brunswick on this First Friday Night on the Town. EDC will have a movie playing in the park and Main Street will have another Beer Garden in the Citizen Lot with The Hard Swimmin’ Fish performing. We are also having our 2nd Annnual Window Display Contest for all the Downtown Businesses. Come out and see how everyone decorated their store and who will get the covetted trophy to display for a year like Brunswick Hardware was able to last year for winning. In addition there will be cash prizes for the top three winners: 1st place–$50; 2nd place–$30; and 3rd place–$20. The Farmers’ Market will also be open this evening so remember to shop local and buy fresh.
August 6th “Beach Party”
Spend the whole evening Downtown Brunswick with the family as tonight is also a Movies in the Park Night sponsored by the EDC. We will once again have the large sandbox out for the kids to play in and this year we are adding an extra venue for the adults in the Citizen Lot. Enjoy beach music and light rock from local band Dream Street. Please remember to wear your Hawaiin shirt and flip flops as the Citizen Lot will be covered in sand and decorated in a true Margaritaville style. We will be serving Coronas and Margaritas and will be working with the downtown businesses to have local cuisine delivered to our private beach downtown. The Farmers’ Market will also be open this evening so remember to shop local and buy fresh.
September 3rd “Great Outdoors”
Unwind with a Downtown event that is sure to get you in the mood to go camping. This First Friday is designed with the hiker in mind as all activities will involve getting out and exploring the Great Outdoors. Scales and Tales, part of the Maryland DNR, will be showing off various wildlife. Live Music by Gallows Road, a local bluegrass band, will be performing in the Citizen Lot. Beer and wine will be provided. The Farmers’ Market will also be open this evening so remember to shop local and buy fresh.
October 1st “Railroad Days Kick Off Reception”
Join Brunswick Main Street and the Greater Brunswick Area Chamber of Commerce (GBACC) as we get ready to celebrate our heritage of trains. This is a Free event for all members of Main Street and GBACC to help kick off the fun filled weekend of the 27th Annual Railroad Days. The Farmers’ Market will also be open this evening so remember to shop local and buy fresh.
